Feminist Theatre Past and Present ^2

  • Artists and scholars talk politics, aesthetics, and the future of feminist performance
Cornell University has a women’s studies program which they have two tracks, one is the Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies the other is LGBT specialty. The LGBT Studies is no newbie to the scene. It can buy it’s own cigarettes and booze, and is even old enough to have a kid in high school. It’s a 30-year-old program. For this Keynote, each panel will highlight a different moment in feminist and lesbian performance history. They will also delve into how rtists and scholars interpret those events. What events, you may ask? I don’t know. Make sure you go and tell me.

Performance Showcase and Masterclass (ZOOM)^1

  • One of the things that I learned about writing is that it’s best to get feedback about your story idea before getting out that post hole-digger you may call your pen. David Sedaris does this. He takes his stories a s kind of stand-up routine, performs it, and sees what parts resonate with his audience. Bring your best 7-minute story to perform and get feedback from Dr. Caines-Coggswell and Angela J. Williams. Their energy is infectious. Their feedback is sure to be invigorating. Watch the faces of people as you tell your story. Don’t make the mistake of reading a piece. Best to go extemporaneious or outline and go by notes or just come to listen to others tell a story. It’s not your only chance.

Dynamic Decision-Making: Five Approaches to Better Problem Solving^2

  • Ever feel like your decisions make themselves, or that your decision-making model is chaotic? There’s an app for that. Just kidding, it’s another Cornell keynote. AREA Mthod decision making systems is a model that Cheryll Strauss Einhorn developed to assist corporations, nonprofits, and individuals to, what Einhorn refers to as “Identify8ing and understanding where we beginand what we prioritize.” She says that her system, which she is presenting, for free, can, again in her words, “help us strengthen key relationships and make our big decisions better.” Halelughia, praise the Einhorn. I registered as soon as I heard about this one.
